This 8-core buoyant cable is an ROV tether. It is neutrally buoyant with a breaking strength of 400 kg and incorporates water-blocking fibers to seal any leak. The cable core contains aramid yarn for strength and polyester yarn as space filler; both fibers are impregnated with a water-blocking compound so that a nick or crack in the cable cannot cause a leak.
