Zero-Buoyancy Cables
A neutrally buoyant cable is engineered so its mass in water approaches zero. The construction trades copper for fibre where it can, adds a syntactic or foamed layer to displace water, and balances the strength member against the jacket so the finished cable neither sinks into the working envelope nor floats the payload off station. Density is verified per construction, not assumed.
