PDK81601
Neutrally to positively buoyant single-mode fiber optic cable, 3.5 mm outer diameter, tensile strength from 150 kg to 450 kg and lengths up to 10,000 m.
Product description
Subsea connections with high strength and a very small footprint
The cable is a neutrally to positively buoyant fiber optic cable designed for the most demanding subsea applications. By integrating a rugged single-core fiber into a dedicated buoyant sheath, it combines high tensile strength, very long continuous lengths and a very small profile.
Key features
Tensile strength to order
Choose the strength your project needs. Tensile strength is customizable from 150 kg to 450 kg, giving stable performance and resilience against strong currents and deployment stress without adding unnecessary weight or cost.
Single continuous lengths up to 10,000 m
Simplify deployment and improve reliability. The cable can be manufactured in a single continuous length of up to 10,000 m, eliminating splices and potential failure points in the open sea and giving uninterrupted data integrity in deep water.
Compact 3.5 mm diameter
Size is no longer a constraint. The outer diameter is only about 3.5 mm, which minimizes drag, reduces storage space and allows easy handling and deployment from smaller vessels and equipment.
Buoyancy design
The special construction provides neutral or positive buoyancy, preventing the cable from sinking onto abrasive seabed terrain and reducing the risk of snagging or damage. This is important for floating sensor applications and for maintaining precise depth control.
Single-mode or multimode fiber core
At the core is a high-performance single-core fiber, available in single-mode or multimode versions, giving low attenuation and high bandwidth for clear data, video and control signals.
Applications
Seabed observatory networks
Subsea acoustic sensor arrays
ROV and AUV communication tethers
Oceanographic data acquisition systems
Offshore energy and defense applications
