This eight-core floating cable is an ROV tether. It is neutrally buoyant, has a breaking strength of 150 kg, and incorporates water-blocking fibres that seal any leak. The core contains aramid yarns for strength and polyester yarns as space fillers. Both fibre types are impregnated with a water-blocking compound so that nicks or cracks in the cable do not cause leakage.

The high-visibility polyurethane foam sheath resists abrasion and provides neutral buoyancy. The cable stiffness is designed to be flexible enough to give the ROV sufficient freedom of movement, yet stiff enough that it does not twist easily.
